May 10,2013·We apply united-atom (UA) nonequilibrium molecular dynamics simulationsto predict the thermal conductivityfor amorphous polyethylene at room temperature with chain length (CL) increasing from 4 to 1260.The thermal conductivityis determined by the competition of the two mechanisms (1) The collision among the UA beads and (2) the phononvibration.Variation of thermal conductivity of DPPC lipid bilayer When DPPC goes from the gel phase to the transition phase with a low-temperature gradient,the thermal conductivity of DPPC decreases from 0.47 to 0.38 W m 1 K 1.Finally,thermal conductivity rises to 0.42 W m 1 K 1 when DPPC is in the liquid crystalline phase.The same trend is observed for the higher temperature gradients.
